"It was a great race for anyone who likes a challenge. It was more of an adventure race. Spectacular scenery when you reached the top of the climb on the bike and run but with blood in your eyes it was hard to see it. the run descent was more about falling down hill fast with out hitting the ground rather than running. Well done to Ennis tri Club who put on a great show. The free massage after the race was well worth waiting for too."
"My legs are stiff and my body aches but there's still a smile on my face. If you completed the inaugural Brian Boru Tri Challenge last Saturday you'll know what I mean. And well done! Of the 300+ entrants, over half were competing in their first triathlon and deserve every credit in finishing the toughest sprint-distance triathlon in the country, comparable in effort to the likes of the Hell of the West!"
"The one lesson I will take from the Brian Boru challenge is; if running a flat race then train for a flat race, if running a hilly race then train for a hilly race. This sounds obvious, but even to get one good hill run and one good hill cycle in the week or two before hand would have stood me in good stead."
